Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, on the other hand, run very smoothly on the Surface Pro X. So, Adobe does not even allow the emulation of the x86/圆4 applications - therefore, I could test neither Adobe Illustrator nor Adobe XD. Unfortunately, all other Creative Suite apps were not even listed in the Creative Cloud. Now it gets complicated because Adobe only allows the installation of the ARM versions of Photoshop (ARM) and Lightroom (ARM). Here I would still be happy about an ARM version, which protects the battery a little. Here is a list of the apps I use: ✅ Affinity Designer & Photo (圆4)Īlthough both Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo were emulated by Windows 11 ARM, they ran buttery smooth and were ready to use. The non-ARM applications run well, but you can still see the battery shrinking steadily. If possible, I tried to install the ARM versions, as the emulated x86/圆4 apps sucked up a lot of battery capacity. In many cases, there was even an ARM version available.

Thanks to the 圆4 emulation (not to be confused with the translation of MacOS/Rosetta2), all relevant apps could be installed and felt fluffy. However, I am unsure whether it is due to my update mania or the Windows operating system. Unfortunately, there was a small wave of updates afterward. A lot has happened here since the initial release of Windows 11.
